YELLOW

When I say the word YELLOW I can’t help but think of the Hotel Bonsol, in its little cove overlooking the beautiful sea of Illetas, with its strictly YELLOW umbrellas, towels, mats and inflatables, an ochre yellow reminiscent of the iconic coastal summers of yesteryear.

Actually, now that I think about it, before thinking of the Bonsol I think of the Coldplay song YELLOW: ‘Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, and everything you do, they were all yellow…’, this song could be considered ‘the perfect soundtrack’ for our BonSol… Imagine the cove, scenographic as it is, with its yellow tones, and with this Coldplay song playing delicately in the background… This makes me think, that as soon as I can, I will buy the Coldplay vinyl, to load it on the turntable and get that ‘yellow’ atmosphere, both visually and musically.

Yellow is a primary colour, light and warm and cheerful. It is the colour of happiness. It is the colour of gold, so it is related to something valuable. It is exciting, it is the colour of the sun, so it is related to energy. For many (and we can only agree) it is the colour of summer, surely this colour/season combination derives from the fact that it is one of the seven colours of the solar spectrum, it is the colour of light, that of the sun rays and that of the warmth we receive from them. Traditionally, as I have already mentioned, yellow is the colour of happiness, hope, positivism, energy and optimism, it is joy and cheerfulness, absence of worries and good humour, in oriental cultures it indicates wisdom and in China it is said that those who put yellow in their lives will receive good things.

From a spiritual point of view, yellow belongs to the third chakra, the Solar Plexus, chakra of power, it is said that this colour refers to one’s own strength and belief in one’s own potential.

There are more than 40 shades of yellow in nature, we like to think that there are actually 41 and that BonSol yellow becomes a tuning element to recall with joy and nostalgia beautiful holidays in this small earthly paradise.
